DiaspoApp Concept started on 26th July 2007 when the Developer attended an international Symposium in Benin Republic (Symposim International des Beninois de l'Exterieur - SIBEX) where Diaspora Communities from all over the world met to discuss diaspora issues. This meeting brought together representatives from the United Nations, World Bank, local and international NGOs.
After that meeting, he took appointment as "Secretaire de la Coordination Mondiale du Haut Conseil des Beninois de l'Extérieur -HCBE" - where he managed lot of diasporan issues from over the world. He brought lot of ICT innovations to the organisation, reorganised membership management and re-structured diaspora communications within the organisation.
However, he was secretly working on a diaspora solution that can help diaspora community members to easily connnect to their home country through their consular and diplomatic missions where their skills and expertise are required for national development.
On 30th November 2010, the LCI/CDM was launched by the then Dean of the Diplomatic Corps His Excellency Mr Jean KPIKPI Bennissan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Togo to Ghana at Conference Room, GNAT, Accra. In attendance of that launching were members of Benin Diplomatic Corps and Iddrissu Mumuni (the Director of Centre of Languages and Professional Studies CELPS, and many other dignitaries.
The LCI/CDM was the first version of DiaspoApp and stands for "Liste Consulaire Informatisée/Consular and Diplomatic Mission". The first version of DiaspoApp launched in 2010 lacked certains features which made the implementation difficult.
The Developer had to invest more time in thinking, planning and study the world of the diaspora, consular and diplomatic missions. After eight more years of study and software development, the Award winning version of the diaspora database - DiaspoApp - was launched on the 31st October 2018 at the the Airport View Hotel, Accra-Ghana
DiaspoApp is a 12-Year Project from 26th July 2017 to 31st October 2018 and is developed by an experienced Diaspora Consultant, Mr. Augustin Codjo HOUDE -International Diaspora Coordinator of the Haut Conseil des Beninois de l'Exterieur, Partner of African Diaspora Marketplace (USAID/ADM II), Country Rep (HCBE - Ghana).
As a Business Intelligence Programmer, he combined his Diaspora Expertise and produced The World Largest Diaspora Database, Commmunication and Diaspora Business Investment Apps to harness the expertise of the diaspora and promote diaspora business investment in their country of origin.
